London Golf Club: Very classy, near Brands Hatch the Formula One racing circuit, 30‘ by train from London

In the eighties the Japanese businessman Masao Nagahara was missing a Championship course near London. So he led built one designed by a Champion, Jack Niklaus. Southeast from London, at Brandshatch close to the Formula 1 Racing ground they found a hilly landscape - a gem for two challenging courses:  The Heritage course is built by Jack Niklaus himself, and he inaugurated it playing with Steve Ballesteros the opening tornament. But Heritage is exclusive, for members only. Don't blame, the second, 'International Course', also a Niklaus Golden Bear Design is also very challenging and fun to play with strategic bunkers in the wavey fairways, ponds and tricky greens  - all beautifully integrated into the typical english landscape.
Exclusive also is the Club house and restaurant, Enjoy.

AMAZE!

Challenging course, excellent to play even with wind.
Charming Clubhouse with nice restaurant and Pro-Shop with excellent staff (worked in Switzerland).

HIGH LIGHTS

The course challenges your golfing abilities with exciting and rewarding shots over water that really get the heart pumping: Challenge starts with Hole 1, Par 5: After a precise tee-shot to reach higher ground, take some risk to get to the green protected by a big, deep pond and a nasty bunker. I'm glad to play with Paul Stuart, Head-PR to guide me.
Cheer up at the tee of  hole no 8, Par 3 and forget the water around the narrow green.

FUN Factor

Play it with Paul Stuart, Head-Pro, you get Champions-advice, improvement of your play and instant success on the course.

HOW to PLAY

As playing a Jack Niklaus Design beware of hazards in play, deep ponds and bunkers are waiting everywere...

Yardage is rather demanding  with four long par 5 s - great pleasure count  nearly five hours to play the course and with the wind that blows often over the meadows.

Not enough green? Lovers of garden culture are rewarded at the Lullingstone Castle & The World Garden

Lullingstone Castle is one of England’s oldest family estates since the 15th Century. The World Garden combines plant heritage with cutting-edge horticulture. The heir of the estate, Tom Hart Dyke, beeing kidnapped in South America decided that the best course of action would be to spend his final day on Earth designing his dream garden in his diary – containing the plants he’d collected from across the globe.
Luckly he survived and realised The World Garden at his estate.

Royal St. Georges, Championship Course of the British Open 2021:

100' by train and taxi from London city

A true gem, and a biest: the course offers the toughest resitistance to every shot - still giving the player the opportunity to shine...  Even champions at the regular revenue of the British Open suffer about the hazards often dearly visible, next time 2021.
Very traditional, exclusive Club house, the restaurant for members only, but the bar is also offering very decent meals...

Review of Royal St. George in in Golf Suisse Magazine by Luzia Kopp, 2 /2018

Himalaya or coffin - the deepest bunker in GB they say... 12m to master.

AMAZE!

very challenging Links course with 'Himalya', the deepest bunker I have ever seen: 12 meter high.
Sean, the caddie, calls the bunker coffin...

 HOW to PLAY

As a Links Course by the sea your golfing abilities are challenged with long blind shots against the wind, luring bunkers, as deep as hell... Fairways are wide but hide some hazards and bunkers. Even if you have seen the course on TV, on the course hidden hazards are waiting every were. We advice you to play it with a member or a caddy to savour to the full what it has to offer...
As playing it in July 2017 it was rather cold and windy -  Finishing the course brush the sand out of your hair, cloths, and clean your hair...... also because some bunkers triggerd my play.

FUN Factor

Play it at the weekend with a member, who is allowed to take the dog with, the dog could help you to find the ball in the marshland...
